Building Brand Presence with Little Cash |
The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) announced that the government is enhancing its business financing schemes to support an additional S$2.3 billion in loans to help local firms gain access to credit in this current economic slowdown. The enhancements include increasing loan quantums, raising government risk sharing of loan defaults and extending business financing schemes to all local enterprises. With the enhancements, up to 124,000 local companies will be eligible to benefit from these schemes. The enhancements will take effect from 1 December 2008. |
An Initiative by ASME and EDC@ASME and supported by WDA and NTUC. As part of its effort to help older workers remain economically productive, the Government will enact re-employment legislation by 2012 to enable more people to continue working beyond the current statutory retirement age of 62, up to 65 in the first instance and, later, up to 67.Designed to prepare companies for the impending re-employment legislation, PREPARE (Programme for Re-Employment Practices: A Roadmap for Employers); provides guidance to companies in implementing re-employment as an integral part of their HR system to facilitate re-employment of older workers. |
Announced by Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong on 8th March 2008, the government will commit $12.6 million over the next three years to the five Enterprise Development Centres to provide SMEs consultancy and advisory services. Supported by SPRING Singapore, Entrepreneurs and Companies may now seek first-level business advisory services from EDC@ASME at no charge. |
We are glad to inform all members that EDC@ASME has secured the Approved Training Organisation (A.T.O.) status under the WDA Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) System w.e.f. 9th may 2008 to deliver competency-based training progammes. This effort is part of our long term goal to work with companies to raise competitiveness and employability of our workforce by equipping employees with practical and relevant job competencies. |
Issued by Tripartite Implementation Workgroup (TIWG), the tripartite advisory on Re-Employment of older workers contains the good practices that employers should consider to facilitate the re-employment of older workers at their workplaces. |
An initiative by SPRING Singapore, the SMART Initiative aims to help SMEs develop and strengthen their management systems and processes to improve performance and enhance their competitiveness.The first phase is the Roadmapping phase, to develop a roadmap for the SME that addresses it priority areas for capability development in business management. The second phase is the Implementation and Review phase. Participating SMEs will implement initiatives as outlined in the roadmap to introduce or improve business management systems and processes. Incentive support will be available for participating SMEs for approved projects for both phases. |
